– Can astrology improve our understanding of geological and seismic events, such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions? Ancient civilizations have long used astrology to predict potential natural disasters.
We are delighted to be collaborating with Céline Marie Vidal on a study of cosmic cycles in relation to volcanism. This project combines ancient and modern astrological knowledge and volcanology to explore potential links between astrological variations and volcanic events. We explore the spatial and temporal scale at which large magnitude eruptions and periods of increased volcanic activity have an astrological signature. The latter could enable us to refine the timing of past eruptions as well as predicting future events.
