Square / sextile / trine convention

In mundo measures the aspect along the sky's daily rotation (hour angle) — the traditional Astro*Carto*Graphy convention, and this tool's default. In zodiaco measures along the zodiac belt (ecliptic longitude) instead, matching the Chart Relocation tool's own aspects. The two agree near the equator and can disagree by a full aspect at high latitude — see the footer note below.

Highlights where two different planets' conjunction/opposition (MC/IC/Asc/Desc) lines cross or run close together — the traditional paran, not computed for square/sextile/trine lines.

Chart data

Lines are computed from real Swiss Ephemeris positions for the birth data above (mean sidereal time and mean obliquity of the ecliptic). Square, sextile and trine lines can be switched between the "in mundo" convention (offsetting hour angle — the traditional Astro*Carto*Graphy method, and this tool's default) and the "in zodiaco" convention (offsetting ecliptic longitude, matching the Chart Relocation tool's own aspects) using the switch under Aspect layers — traditions differ on which is "correct", and the two agree near the equator but can disagree by a full aspect category at high latitude, since the Ascendant's zodiac position is a markedly uneven function of the sky's rotation there. Paran-zone radius is a flat km-to-degree conversion (1° ≈ 111km), not corrected for latitude.
