Most people can leave these as they are — Tropical Zodiac and Placidus Houses is the usual default setting in Western astrology. Jyotish charts always use the Sidereal Zodiac — that's what distinguishes Vedic astrology from Western. Lahiri is the most widely used ayanamsha and the default here; Fagan-Bradley is offered as an alternative. North Indian: a fixed diamond, houses always in the same place and signs rotating around it. South Indian: a fixed 4×4 grid, signs always in the same place and houses rotating instead. Numbers are the traditional North Indian convention; glyphs are traditional for South Indian — either works with either layout. Off by default — the traditional Navagraha is the nine classical bodies (Sun through Saturn, plus Rahu/Ketu) with no outer planets at all. Not used when birth time is unknown — Whole Sign with Aries rising is used instead. True Node is the default here. Switch to Mean Node to match sources — astro.com among them — that use that convention instead; the two can differ by a degree or more. The major and minor aspects below are shown by default. Quintile, Septile and Novile are off by default — each one turns on its WHOLE harmonic family, not just the single angle named: Quintile is 72° and 144° (biquintile), Septile is 51°26′, 102°51′ and 154°17′, and Novile is 40°, 80° and 160°. Orb, in degrees — how close two points need to be to still count as forming the aspect. One number per family covers every angle in it. Off by default. Chiron and Lilith are the two most commonly used in modern practice; Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta are the four major asteroids. Anything checked here is drawn on the wheel and included in the aspect list like any other point. Relate this chart to a second moment in time — today's transits, where your progressed planets have moved to, a solar arc direction, or a solar return for a given year. Solar Return needs a real birth time to anchor its own houses and angles to — it isn't available for a chart cast with "Time unknown". Cast at noon, local time at your birth place.
